  3. Alice Esslinger Huntsville, AL GPA - 3.85ACT - 30 Career Goal: Alice has successfully balanced a strong academic performance with varsity sports. She played on the varsity softball, swimming and volleyball teams and was chosen to be a member of the Huntsville Chamber of Commerce Youth leadership Class. To top off her high school experience, Alice was an exchange student in Australia.

  5. Alishia Jackson Huntsville, AL GPA - 3.14ACT - 22College - Tuskegee University Career Goal: Alishia has been a very active student volunteer while maintaining college bound grades. She was secretary of the National Beta Club, first secretary of the DBU Service Club, senior class officer, a member of the United Way Youth Leadership Council, and a volunteer for the United Way and American Red Cross.

  7. Chimeria Cleveland Selma, AL GPA - 4.00ACT - 19College - University of Alabama at Birmingham Career Goal: Chimeria has had accomplishments in many diverse areas during her high school career. While serving as captain of the cheerleading squad, she was the Parliamentarian and member of the National Honor Society. She was also a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Student Government Association and Math Club. Chimeria received the colonial Dunes Essay Award and was the ACE competition winner.

Christopher Stone Bessemer, AL GPA - 3.38ACT - 26College - Birmingham Southern Career Goal: Christopher was awarded the Joe Patridge Scholarship last year and has continued to excel now that he is in college. While maintaining a high GPA in high school, he was in the church choir and marching, concert and jazz bands, played varsity soccer and ran cross-country. Christopher is an Eagle Scout and also received the Order of the Arrow and was a member of the Junior and National Honor Society. He has volunteered at a local nursing home, United Way blood drives and at the Eye Foundation Hospital. While attending college he remains and active in community activities and serves as a Student Government Association representative.

DeAngela Lindsey Anniston, AL GPA - 3.28ACT - 19College - Jacksonville State University Career Goal: DeAngela has successfully shown how to balance her dedication to academics and her love and responsibilities to her family. While maintaining a strong GPA, she has worked two jobs after school and scheduled time on weekends to help her brother with his schoolwork. She is very active in her church and looks forward to academic success at the college level and beyond.

  13. Emily Gray Demopolis, AL GPA - 4.17ACT - 28College - University of Alabama Career Goal: Emily is an outstanding student scholar. She has been a member of the National Honor Society throughout her high school years. She played on the Demopolis High School tennis team and served her senior class as treasurer. Her academic strengths were recognized and underscored by her invitation to attend the School of Math and Science in Mobile, Alabama for the 10th, 11th and 12th grades. Emily has further rounded her high school experience by being a member of the Interact Club (a division of Rotary International), S.A.D.D., and FCCLA (Home Economics Club).

Katerina Boyd Albertville, AL GPA - 3.41ACT - 21 Career Goal: Katerina is currently attending Wallace State and is president of the 2003 dental hygiene class, which involves patient recruitment, fundraising, community education and supportive periodontal treatment for the public. This combination of academic excellence and related extracurricular involvement will ensure her success when she enters the dental work environment. She balances school with being a mother of a three year old named Shadow.

  17. Kristin Walker Ozark, AL GPA - 3.75ACT - 27College - Enterprise State Junior College Career Goal: Kristin's goal is to become a pharmacist. She has a strong high school academic record. She was inducted in the National Honor Society, National Vocational Technical Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. Active with Carroll High School Marching and Concert Band, she plays saxophone and held the position of head majorette her senior year. Kristin is also an accomplished bowler and has received many awards and won many accolades in tournament play. She has donated her time to the House of Ruth, Boys and Girls Club of Ozark, Children's Miracle Network, Ozark Civic Center, All State Band Competition, Kid's Day America, Ozark City Parks and Recreation Department and Dale County Rescue Mission Food Bank.

  19. Takenya Jones Northport, AL GPA - 3.84ACT - 25College - University of Alabama Birmingham Career Goal: Tekenya's goal is to be a physician. She was president of the National Honor Society, National Latin Honorary Society and a member of Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. She was selected Homecoming Queen, an outstanding senior, Who's Who Among American High School Students, and class favorite. She was selected for Stillman College Upward Bound Program each year in high school, providing after school tutoring and participating in the Adopt-A-Grandparent program and performed in the school band. She was selected a Ventures Scholar, as a delegate to the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State, and All State Band.
