IE7 released in October 2006 5 years passed before a new version of IE was released with IE6 released in August 2001 Did not provide an increase in market share IE7 provided little innovation Many of the features included were already present in early versions of Firefox Lack of standard compliancy; fails Acid2 test Not open source
