Kitonb’s shows, therefore, “explode” between earth and sky, they develop in great open spaces, where gigantic flying sceneries are maneuvered by a telescopic crane to an height of 80 m… Fine arts, mountaineering, theater and music, circus arts and before all dance, are the disciplines that influence and stimulate the artistic creation of the Kitonb’s author and director Angelo Bonello and that bring him to elaborate a particular contortion and multi -visual dimension of the scenic space. Kitonb (he who flies) is born in the summer of 1998, in a period in which the post industrial theatre had begun its decline and it was necessary a strong renewal with new and fascinated ideas. From these situation come out the idea of the extreme theater, the search of the condition without limits as ideal situation to find a powerful and innovative scenic force. After the first multimedia and interdisciplinary experiments, the Kitonb’s Company delineates its original stylistic matrix that will distinguish it in the time. … the choreographic actions of the dancer-acrobats, the special and multi medial effects, create a three-dimensional show that embrace the audience at 360°.

  4. >>CARILLON The Fly of Time “Carillon” is a very recent production which develops between earth and sky, where spectacular moving set machines, perspective planes created with lasers, interactive videos, great flying set-structures manoeuvred by 60m hydraulic cranes and the choreographic actions of dancers create a three dimensional show which involves the audience at 360°. A big metallic parallelogram - the Carillon - 6 metres high, wholly intersected by 600 metres of elastic ropes and fixed to a motorised rotating platform which reproduces the rotation effect of an old Music box, is the supporting scenography of the show from which - and in which - all the earthly and flying actions are born and converge. The show’s narrative fabric regards the alternation of the four seasons, as a synthesis and container of the ages of the world narrated in Ovid’s Metamorphoses and interpreted, offstage, by the famous voice of the Italian actor Walter Maestosi (in the Italian version of the show – in the English version the character is performed by Paul Lorimer). The elaborate lighting design articulates the passing of the seasons, culminating in spectacular special effects (cinematographic snow, pyrotechnic effects, technical-illusionistic set effects) and completing the choreographic and acrobatic journey of the artists. The show’s unique sonority crosses ages and peoples: electronic and mantra, orchestral music and primordial voices in a powerful and refined soundtrack, where the voice of Rosie Wiederkehr, solo-voice of the Agricantus group, is the “voice of the world”. Carillon is a modular show and can be realised in different versions, with the possibility of extracting one or more scenes from the integral version, with a minimum duration of 8 minutes. The complete Carillon show has a running time of approximately 50 minutes. The acting part with text is optional .

  5. >>THE CREATION At the beginning of the time, before the creation of the see, heart and sky, which covers every thing, nature’s aspect was unique and indistinct in all the universe; it was a shapeless and confused mass of things badly combined without borders and time, seeds of amasseddiscord. ...Until a god separated the sky from the heart, the ground from the see, the deep air from the pure sky, and after he had releasedanddisentangled them from that confused mass, he put together al the elements and the time was generated.

  6. >>SPRING The age of gold flowered first, spontaneously, without the need for laws, and loyalty and rectitude were honoured. There were no crooked bronze horns, nor helmets, nor swords and people lived safely without any form of vigilance. The earth, not obliged, produced everything by herself. Men were content from the food created spontaneously, gathering the fruits felled from the sacred tree of Jupiter… …it was eternal Spring.

  7. >>THE NIGHT High up in the sky there is a way, which can be seen when it’s clear. It is called the “Milky Way” and it stands out because of its purity… The legend says that the Giant, or rather the men, seeking to the kingdom of gods, had hoard mountains up to the stars. Then the omnipotent father flung the lightning and tore the Olympus.

  8. >>SUMMER Jupiter reduced Spring’s original duration and made the years pass through the seasons … The age of silver took over and for the first time men sheltered in houses. Then came the wicked bronze age but not yet… Lastly the age of iron arrives: suddenly in this age of the worst temperament emerged every impiety, there was no more decency or sincerity; loyalty was taken over by cheating and deception, peril and violence, by the wicked taste of possession… and here war shows its face.

  9. >>AUTUMN Everywhere on Earth fury reigned wild! Thus, soon everybody would pay the price they deserved. Finally Jupiter – Saturn’s son - decided to destroy the human race with water, with rain pouring from the sky. So the rivers overflowed from their sources and precipitated violently into the seas ...

  10. >>WINTER …by now there was no difference anymore between the sea and dry land, There was water everywhere on Earth… a sea without borders or banks. ...then the sea’s fury ceased too, and after a long winter the world returned to its previous state. When the earth began to dry, a very high mountain appeared, reaching towards the sky with its peak beyond the clouds.

  11. >>THE PRODIGIUS RACE And when the fierce heat of the sun dried the earth, rapidly destroying its remaining life… by the will of the gods, a new human race was created; different from the first, a race of prodigious origin. And now the work was done and neither Jupiter’s rage, nor fire, nor steel, nor time, which wears down everything, could cancel it. But I will fly in eternity with the best par of myself, higher than the stars and my name will remain indelible for ever…
