Living things use energy • Take in energy from food/ sunlight • Metabolism • Ingestion; digestion; cellular respiration; excretion
Living things reproduce • All living things come from other living things • 2 Types: • Sexual- requires 2 parents to produce offspring • Asexual- 1 parent to produce offspring
Living things grow, develop and die • Grow = get larger • Develop = change in form (egg-tadpole-frog) • Life span/cycle= from birth to death
Living things sense and respond to changes • Change that affects an organism = stimulus • Ex- Light; gravity • Response- change caused by a stimulus • Ex-Chill bumps; sweating
HOMEOSTASIS • Maintain a stable internal environment • When you are sick you want to go home & stay
