  2. What are the essential values that define “winning” in your life? Fortune? Fame? Power? Jesus: “What will a man profit, if he gains the whole world, and loses his soul? Or what will a mangive in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26)

  3. The Heart of the Matter … Win the heart, and win the soul: shape behavior! * When sin infects the heart: Romans 1:21, Jeremiah 17:9Matthew 15:19-20 *The residence of the Lord Ephesians 3:16—17 *The eyes of the heart – Ephesians 1:18

  4. The Foundation of Love And Celebration! “I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14).

  5. The Vision of a Calling “Long ago, even before He made the world, God chose us to be his very own through what Christ would do for us” (Ephesians 1:4 TLB) * You are here for a purpose (Matt. 22:37) * Your purpose is greater than you (Mt. 16:25) * God gave you talents/spiritual gifts (1 Peter 4:10) * Serve Him (Colossians 3:23)

Managing Adversity Challenge: Support but not rescue! * Conflict resolution skills; anger; disappointment overcoming failures – what now????  Spiritual Skills to Overcome Adversity * Face it, don’t run – Joshua/Caleb (Num. 14:7) * Pray it – Early church, Peter – Acts 12:5,24 * Trust during adversity – Matthew 19:26 – “but with God all things are possible."

  8. The Gift of Hope (Romans 15:13) God will make a way… He works MIRACLES! He did for: * Israel at Red Sea (Exodus 14:10)* Jesus in Gethsemane, Calvary (Luke 22, 23)* Persecution of the early church (Acts) + Saul’s conversion!  Hope means: Romans 8:28-29

  9. “Lead Me to Calvary”Leading children to faith in Jesus Christ • God draws the child – He wants them saved more than you do! (John 6:44) • God uses His Word (Hebrews 4:12) • Raise them to know the Lord (Ephesians 6:4)* God loves (John 3:16)* God sees (Hebrews 4:13)* Sin comes with a price (Numbers 32:23)* God saves (Luke 19:10)
