4. An Illustration of the Cholera epidemic. Unknown in the western hemisphere before 1830, cholera became one of the most feared epidemic diseases of the nineteenth century. First known carving in the Western Hemisphere. The find, which is an engraved bone with what looks like a mammoth on it, is of major significance because there is simply nothing like it in the New World.
