YES-Youth Energy Summit Academic Competitions • The InvenTeam initiative (is): • Designed to excite high school students about invention and problem solving • Awards grant money up to $10,000 each to invent technological solutions to real-world problems. • Applicants are encouraged to consider needs of the world's poorest people (those earning $2/day) when brainstorming invention ideas. • The Siemens We Can Change the World Challenge • Identify an environmental issue that has local, national and global implications and to provide a viable, replicable solution. • Teams must select an environmental topic relating to energy, biodiversity, land management, water conservation & clean-up and/or air & climate In the dry season, land sits waiting for the rainy season. Green House technology would allow for fresh produce and extra income This village in Nigeria received a water well because of the fund raising done by schools in the EGUSD. This village will be one of the recipients of the green houses that LCHS GETA students design through the InvenTeams Competition.
