Effective Pre/Post-Test Assessment Strategies for Course Outcomes
This guide outlines practical steps for using pre/post-test assessments to evaluate student learning outcomes effectively. Developed by Marla Larimore and Don Lind, learning assessment coordinators, the process includes creating a test mapped to course outcomes, administering the test (including using scan-tron), and analyzing scores. Emphasis is placed on documenting results, identifying areas for improvement, and evaluating program and institutional support. Resources are provided for outcome mapping, data analysis, and reporting to enhance educational effectiveness.
