Setting things up • Select the methodology you will use • Identify KPI’s • Group KPI’s as per strategy • Access the reports where the KPI’s are stored - this is the data feed for the application • Determine the Thresholds • Create the PowerPlay client reports - static images • Create the required bookmarks for exploration to other applications • Determine how things will roll up

Process PPR Builder Publisher • XML document is consumed • parses the templates replacing KPI tags with information from the XML • publishes by default to Upfront • can publish to a static website • applies process logic defined in the KPI tags • PPWin - publish as HTML to create static reports • error log is produced • PPWin data is retrieved • Roll up rules are applied • Status is determined • IG and KPIs become 32 characterunique ids for Upfront • XML document is updated • kpi.ini is updated • error log is produced

Updating the Business Pack Publish • overwrites the html files with new information • publishes any new static images • presents the information to the KPI server Cube Updates Build • determine what Indicator groups will get built • determine what KPIs will get built • PPR files are opened behind the scenes to retreive most up to date data • roll up rules are applied to new numbers • new status is determined • previous status is kept • History is created or updated if required • determines if any new unique ids are needed • kpi.ini is updated • error log is produced
