Council Regulation (EEC) No 793/93 of 23 March 1993 on the evaluation and control ofthe risks of existing substances “ Whereas, in order to ensure the protection of man, including workers and consumers, and of the environment, it is necessary to carry out at Community level a systematic evaluation of the risks involving existing substances appearing in the Einecs (European Inventory of Existing Commercial Substances) » In May 2007, since 1993 : • only 141 substances had been listed for risk assessment ; • 69 substances had been assessed with a full report disclosed on the Internet site of the ex-European Chemicals Bureau.
