  5. Programme areto: objectives of the Early Childhood Care andEducation Ensure each child Valued, respective, feels and safe and secureand develops a positiveself-concept. Enable a sound foundation for physical and motor development ofeach child-as per each child'spotential. Imbibe good nutrition routines, health habits, hygiene practices and self- helpskills. Enhance development of pro-social skills, social competence andwell being. Develop sense of aesthetic appreciation and stimulate creativelearning processes. Promote development and integration of thesenses.

  6. Challenges forECCE The lack of recognition and awareness of the importance ofECCE. Limited qualified preschool teachers and otherstaff. The poor quality of teaching ( due to a low-quality teacher-training system, no on-the-job coaching and the use of multi-grade teaching). Language Barriers-by law, Vietnamese is the languageof instruction at school regardless of the children's mother tongue. Most Parents in these disadvantaged areas have limitedknowledge about childcare and education, including health, Hygiene,and nutrition, and consider the education of their children a matterfor teachers andschools.

  7. Programme Activities ForECCE! Identifying suitable areas and establishing learning ECCE centres at/around construction sites for youngchildren. Organizing developmentally appropriate learning activities for children to provide them with quality learning in a stimulatingenvironment. Providing nutrition to the children to address the issue ofmalnourishment. Regularly organizing health check-ups and immunisation and growth monitoringcamps. Raising awareness amongst parents and community leaders at construction sites on healthy child care practices and low cost nutritious food for children.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES FORECCE To provide Early Childhood Care and Education services to 15,000 children in the group of 2-6 years from deprived families whose parents work at construction/building sites and reside in urbanslums.. To ensure enrollment and continuation of primary education to 15,000 children in the age group of 6-14 years from deprived families parents work at construction/building sites and reside in urbanslums.. www.schoolsindehradun.com
