  1. Commuting Will Be Changed For Ever Post Covid-19 Covid-19 has changed the World, and commuting as we knew it will change, as everyone is starting to get back to work this week majority of daily commuters will change the way they commute. The general public and especially people who commute to and from work using public transport services are very anxious and are looking at alternative ways to commute. Many commuters have lost the confidence in public transport organisations to implement required safety measures, and their concerns will lead them to change the way they commute to and from work. The government has made it compulsory to cover your face whilst using public transport but the commuters feel this is not enough and further safety measures need to be introduced to build commuter confidence in public transport services throughout the country. Commuters will need to see some reforms in the way of introducing new and preventive safety measures in the public transport sector to re-build their confidence. The Operations Manager of Kentax Taxis in High Wycombe Mr Abdul Hamid is urging his local authority of Buckinghamshire Council to bring in additional standards as compulsory transport procedures to rebuild commuter trust in public transport services.

  2. It is already compulsory to cover your face and maintain recommended social distancing however the following 3 standards should be brought in to get the commuters using public transport again without safety concerns. · Hand sanitising equipment to be available in the transport and at all terminals. · Regular and complete dis-infection of both transport and terminals. · Make it mandatory for transport providers to provide transport workers with PPE on a regular basis. Mr Hamid said that major London Taxi Firms are urging the government to implement these safety standards in London to bring back commuter trust as one survey conducted by a major London Private Hire firm fount that 6 out of 10 London commuters will change the way they travel when they return to work, The private hire firm surveyed 1,000 people who travel into the City from other boroughs of London and 56% of them said that they are looking to change the way they commute to and from work, some of these changes are:  More than 50% intend to change their commuting times to avoid peak hours  More than 40% intend to use their own vehicle which is 23% higher than pre Covid -19 More than 20% intend to incorporate more walking in their commute. More than 40% intend to use private hire vehicles & taxis for their commute. These figures tell us that the change of commute is down to lack of confidence in public transport, with over 69% of people surveyed saying they still feel anxious and concerned even with everyone covering their faces and maintaining social distance on public transport, using the tube is a major concern for over 72% and many are further concerned that their colleagues will be using the tubes in London. This research shows a significant shift away from using public transport as means of travelling due to health and safety concerns, Mr. Hamid said that to ensure all forms of transport are utilized to help people get back to work we need a common set of safety standards to be brought in by local authorities which are above, we would love to work with our local authority to agree and facilitate bringing in these standards in the transport industry. In order to keep it’s drivers and passengers safe Kentax have implemented safety procedures like:  Regular disinfection of all its vehicles.  Regular supply of PPE equipment including masks, gloves, disinfectant, and hand sanitizer to all drivers. Mandatory cleaning of cars after every journey.  Regular awareness meeting to keep all staff informed of safety procedures and their importance. Management spot checking random vehicles to ensure compliance
