  3. Purpose of the OrientationTo introduce prospective coaching teachers and university supervisors to the USC ADEPT System and prepare them for working with USC teacher candidatesToday’s session will NOT qualify participants to serve on formal evaluation teams in their school settings

Overview of USC ProgramsSome programs have two-semester internships and use ADEPT in both semesters:Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle Level, Secondary, & Foreign LanguageSome programs have one-semester internships and use ADEPT in that one semester:Art, Music, Physical Education, Business, and Special Education See pages 43-59 of the Clinical Experiences Manual for Brief Descriptions of Various Clinical Experiences

  6. Coaching Teacher RequirementsIn general, USC prefers that coaching teachers who work with candidates in semesters prior to their final internship have ADEPT training.Coaching teachers who work with candidates in the final internship MUST have ADEPT training and no less than three years of teaching experience.
