Aim To enhance the proficiency of port facility security staff in the control of access to the port facility.
Objectives • Security staff to conduct vehicle checks according to procedures in the PFSP.
Desired outcomes • Security staff will be able to: • Apply the correct procedures for vehicle checks and verification. • Properly check a vehicle for contraband and/or unauthorized items • Deny entry to unauthorized vehicles and contrabands/suspicious items.
Control Team • Chief Controller: PFSO, Mr. AAA • Simulators • Driver 1 – Mr/Ms. XXX • Driver 2 – Mr/Ms. YYY • Stowaway, may be replaced by a dummy • Safety officer
Players • Security staff on duty
Materials • 1 x vehicle modified for a stowaway. • 1 vehicle modified to carry contraband. • Packs of powder or crystal-like items, simulating drugs.
Scenario • Two vehicles will attempt to enter the Port Facility with unlawful intent. Each is independent of the other.
Controller Tasks • The drivers are to comply with all procedures to obtain passes for personnel and vehicles to enter the Port Facility • Carry appropriate identification to exchange for a Port Facility pass so as to gain entry
Communications • Mobile phone • Walkie-Talkie • Player – Ch YY • Controllers – Ch ZZ
Safety • Physical safety of personnel is paramount • There is to be no physical contact between player and controllers acting as intruders, etc. • Security staff are not to use abusive language when talking to controllers acting as “intruders” • Do not neglect the safety of equipment
