  7. Run 2011 RPC shift The present table contains the requested shift per institution. The shift are calculated considering 48 weeks of runs and 3 shifter per week (DOC, DM and CAF) plus 15% of contingency. The request is to provide 2 shift(weeks)/EPS See Gabriella talks

News about RPC organization 4th RPC General Meeting - Pigi Paolucci RPC MB, coordinators and experts have access to a shared google documents used to prepare the weekly report to the XEB meeting: Very good way to share info ! Please ask to have access June 14th:TC:Everything was perfectly stable before the gas kill on 31th May. Then after a power-cut in SG5 and a gas kill we had 5 trips in the barrel and 1 in the endcap.All have been recovered. One chamber temporarily in SG mode till next access.Trigger: Muon Trigger rate variations observed (~9%) in last weeks, the most probable reason is variation of the RPC chamber efficiency (by 2-3%) with the pressure variation (impacting the trigger efficiency in the endcaps by 3-4%, and thus the rate). Still not clear is the variation of the cluster size could impact the probability of promoting the low pt muons to high pt (impacting the rate on given threshold). Variation is not present with low PT cut (Mu0 and Mu7) and increase from Mu16 to Mu20RC: stable since the HV scan - no problem with the new set of WP and efficiency very stable in time (2-3% of variation due to the pressure) P/T correction in PVSS has been discussed and defined and will be tested during the next TSDPG:DQM: experts are investigating in the offline DQM to speed-up it. Right now we are using 4MB and we already deleted 4.000 histograms. Work is on going. MC: Comparison of number of RPC hits in MuonReco of 2011 data with summer2011 MC, show nice agreement in barrel and endcap. Some small discrepancy in overlap region under studyUpgrade: MB:

ESP 2011 • ESP 2011 have been approved by RPC and CMS • Most of the RPC pledges have been approved after having consulted TC/RC/DPG/Upgrade • Some DPG task to be checked: • PVT 6 needed 13.6 pledge • Analysis 36 56 • Up soft 4 0 • Gap prod 8 16 • End of the year RPC MB will fill the work done with the help of the coordinators • Few tasks without any results. Conclusion • Project is in good shape and many improvements have been done during the 2010-2011 shut-down • ESP pledge letters deadline is in 2 weeks. • Manpower: DCS – WBM – Online experts – detector expert • 2010 expenditure were in line with our budget 269 KCHF • 2011-2012: we have to cover 2 critical tasks • 2011 budget is necessary – contribution request in few days RPC IB meeting - Pigi Paolucci
