Attention all healthcare providers: Key attestation deadlines for the 2014 Program Year are approaching. If you are not eligible for the 2014 CEHRT flexibility, ensure you complete your attestation by February 28, 2015, for both Medicare and Indiana Medicaid. If you are attesting to Indiana Medicaid only, note the unique attestation period from April 1 to April 30, 2015. Additionally, understand the implications of Medicare Part B payment adjustments based on your attestation status, and remember to register with the Indiana State Department of Health for public health measures.

Program Year 2014 Attestation Deadlines Were you eligible for 2014 CEHRT Flexible Reporting Option? • NO Are you attesting to Medicare? • The deadline to complete your attestation = February 28th, 2015 Are you attesting to Indiana Medicaid? • The deadline to complete your attestation = February 28th, 2015 • YES Are you attesting to Medicare? • The deadline to complete your attestation = February 28th, 2015 Are you attesting to Indiana Medicaid? • The only window to attest = April 1 – April 30th, 2015 NOTE:If you are a provider who was not eligible for the 2014 CEHRT flexibility (regardless of Medicare/Medicaid program), the deadline to complete your attestation is February 28th, 2015
Medicare Part B Payment Adjustments In 2015 Are you subject to a Medicare Part B payment adjustment in 2015? • Can you answer YES to either of the following questions? • Did you attest to MU in 2013? • Were you an EP attesting to the first MU participation year in 2014, and successfully submitted the attestation prior to October 1, 2014? You are not subject to the 2015 downward payment adjustment of 1% • Did you answer NO to both of the questions above? You are subject to the 2015 downward payment adjustment of 1%
Avoiding Payment Adjustments In 2016 & Beyond Avoiding Medicare Part B payment adjustments in the future • Continue to demonstrate MU every year • Adjustments are made based on a two-year look back (e.g. A provider who attests to MU in 2014 avoids the adjustment in 2016.) • If eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, must demonstrate every year • If eligible for Medicaid ONLY, you are not subject to adjustments • NOTE: EPs receive the payment adjustment amount that is tied to the year that they did not demonstrate meaningful use. For example, an EP who does not successfully attest to MU in 2015 will be subject to a downward payment adjustment of 3% in 2017.
Stage 2 Public Health Objectives & Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) EPs attesting to Stage 2 MU measures Immunization Registry and/or Cancer Case Registry in 2015 must register with ISDH’s MU portal by the 60th day of their reporting period. The 60th day of the 2015 reporting period is March 1, 2015 ISDH Meaningful Use Self-Service Portal ISDH is not currently accepting ongoing electronic submissions from EPs for Program Year 2015 for the Syndromic Surveillance and Specialized Case Registry menu objectives.
