  2. what we do The Student Activities and Organizations Marketing Office provides graphic designers and photographers to handle requests for artwork and photography for registered student organizations.

  3. What we do Additionally, the Marketing office provides guidance in getting your project off the ground. You may contact us at any time at the email address provided below to request help with any project from buttons to t-shirts. MARKETINGDESIGN@ECU.EDU

  4. Why would my organization need marketing? There are many special events going on everyday across ECU. Students are, by nature, very busy. Additionally, most people will not go out and actively look for events that would interest them, with the exception of new student orientation at ECU. Therefore, YOU MUST ADVERTISE in order to let students know what your organization is all about, what type of events you host, and what the benefits are when students join your organization.

Types of graphic design services provided • Design T-Shirts for your Organization or Event • Artwork to be used for: • Place an advertisement in The East Carolinian Newspaper • Banners • Buttons • Postcards • Posters • LCD Screens Across Campus • Movie Previews • ECU Transit Signage • Organization Logos

  6. Photography services Photography services are offered in order to showcase your organization’s special events. Taking advantage of these FREE services are a great way to capture the memories of your event to either print, upload to your organization’s Twitter or Facebook page, or to disseminate to members of your organization.

Is it Really free? • Graphic Design and Photography services are FREE to all ECU registered organizations. • Additional Free Products/Services • 200 Black and White Copies -OR- 100 Black and White and 100 Color Copies per semester are available at our offices in Mendenhall for each organization. • Button design and the actual buttons themselves. They can be made in the Library at the Teaching Resource Center and are limited to 5 buttons per person per semester. • LCD Screen and Movie Preview Advertisements • Facebook Event Image/Banners • 2 Posters per organization per semester • Organization Logo Design

  8. What’s the catch? THAT’S THE BEST PART! THERE ISN’T ONE! There are some things to keep in mind though…

COST OF PRODUCTION • Several items that our office offers design work for cost to print at printing companies both in town and on-line. • These services include: • Printing of Posters beyond the two free posters printed for each organization per semester • Printing of Banners • Printing of Postcards • T-Shirts • Advertisement submission in The East Carolinian • Printing and Advertisement Space on ECU Transit Busses

  10. So how much do these items typically cost? • We have some handouts that we encourage organizations to pick up before leaving today. Among these forms is a Pricing Guide that shows the average quantity and costs of printing various things, along with the costs for inserting advertisements into The East Carolinian Newspaper, printing and purchasing advertisement space on ECU Transit busses, and some other very important information.

  11. How to request marketing services • To request our services, you have two options: • Register and Log into OrgSync and fill out the online Marketing Design Services Request Form • Be as clear and detail-oriented as possible when filling out the form. If you have an idea of how your request should look, TELL US!

  12. Process for marketing requests

  13. Timeframe to keep in mind • Our office will need AT LEAST 30 days to process requests for artwork. With 350+ organizations, it is important to get your requests in as early as possible. • It takes additional time to get your items printed and shipped. Example: • Your organization needs t-shirts for it’s annual event on October 1st. • Your marketing request for the artwork needs to be in our office by August 1st. We will have the finished product to you no later than September 1st. • On September 1st, you can contact the company of your choice and get your t-shirt order placed. This will ensure enough time to receive your t-shirts by the event date.
