What will be discussed • Every day instructioncan be changed easily to fit the needs of all students • Varying degrees of alterations • Teaching multiple levels in one classroom
What it’s all about • Expose students to different information • Chance to explore a place new • Thinking about traveling and how to travel • Experience different areas as best they can • Also read a chapter book to go along with the state.
Changing it up for each student • Different ways to present the material • Prop box • Youtube • Different textured materials • Braille state cut out
Examples • Beginning of each state, a travel lesson is done • While learning, using tactiles, pictographs, photos, video, etc. • After each state, taste test!
Last things • Each time the lesson is done, it is varied in some way • There will always be times that you feel like the students understood nothing • But that is not the case • Although it seems overwhelming, once it is started, making slight alterations is easily done
