  1. How to paint and decorate a stone fountain at your place?

  2. Stone fountains are one of the most beautiful things that could be placed in our homes and gardens and can instantly change the way they ever looked. There are a variety of stone fountains that are available in the market in different colors and designs. Having a stone fountain at your place is not just wonderful to look at but soothing at the same time. Fountain helps make the place more natural looking and fresh all the time.

  3. How great it would be if you could yourself paint and decorate the stone fountain as per your choice, and match with the place? This could be a reality! YES. There’s a little that you need to do and you’ll be able to do it all. Painting your stone fountain will give you personalized contentment. So, here’s how to do it:

  4. Things that you would need: Buckets, Dish detergent, soft brush, industrial solvent, measuring cup, cleaning rags, dust mask, scrub brush, water proofer spray, and paint spray.

  5. Here’s how to get started. Remove all the attachments of the stone fountain that can be removed from the main body and place them side by side on the ground. Prepare a solution with 1/2 a cup mild dish detergent and 1 gallon warm water in a bucket. Now take a soft brush, and clean all the dirt from the attachments of the fountain and rinse well. Let the attachments dry for at least 15 minutes on a sunny day.

  6. With the help of the industrial solvent, clean the fountain as is directed on the bottle. Follow this step only if you feel the fountain is dirty enough. Next, use a scrub brush to safely clean the fountain without chipping the stones away or brining any scratches to the fountain. Remember: the key here is being gentle. Rinse the fountain too and let it dry for another 15 minutes. Cleaning before painting, is a must.

  7. Now let’s start painting the fountain and the attachments. Coat the fountain with spray paint by using a sweeping motion left to right to evenly coat it. Also, every fountain requires at least 3 coats. Make sure that the first coat has completely dried before you apply the next one. You can also use various colors to make it more vibrant and beautiful.

  8. As all the coats get dry, spray water proofer as directed on the can. Let everything dry for at least 24 hours, before you fill it with water. And your fountain is set to be placed beautifully, wherever you want.
