  1. The V.I.B. Buddy

  2. W.A.L.T. • How have movies developed from silent film to the present day? • What are some of the iconic /influential movies and why are they so important? • Who are some of the iconic/influential actors? • What is the history of going to the cinema in Scotland? • How are movies planned/made and distributed?

  3. Make Buddy a Star. • Produce a movie between 2 and 3 minutes long in which Buddy is the star.

  4. Wall Display • Each group will be responsible for a section of wall space. • It is up to each group to plan your own wall display • You can update and change your wall display whenever you feel it is necessary.

  5. Looking after Buddy • Buddy wants to experience ‘Scottish Life’ • Each member of the class will get to take Buddy home. • If you are doing anything special let your teacher know in advance and she will do her best to book Buddy for you. • Each member of the class will contribute to ‘Buddy’s Diary’

  6. Whenever you take Buddy home you will write a diary entry which can include photos and/or drawings to accompany the writing.

  7. Photo Record • Each group will take photos throughout the project. • Each group will produce a photo presentation of their choice of activities.

  8. Fact File • Each pupil will produce a Movie Fact File • You should research any aspect of film, it could be based around film/actor/producer/director, history of film or favourite genre e.g. Disney, sci-fi, adventure….

  9. The fact file is expandable held together with a tag, which means pages can be added and discarded. • The fact files will be kept on a wall display and you are encouraged to read each others to get ideas for your own. If you do use someone else’s idea (s) please give them credit for it.

  10. The fact files are an on going project and can be worked on in class if you have spare time… at home… and any other time you have free. • Your teacher will supply the card for your fact file.

  11. Celebrate Your Work • Plan and create an Oscar evening when you invite your parents and guests to watch your movies and vote for the - Best Picture Oscar (Other Oscars will also be presented on the night)

  12. Curriculum For Excellence • Using the criteria for Curriculum For Excellence you will discuss the role of each individual within your group, evaluating both their and your performance on each task. • This is a chance to reflect on your work, praise group members and voice concerns within the group.
