  8. Front Label tamped and rolled on front and/or side of pallets. Machine runs on standard conveyor. Sturdy stainless steel arm built for millions of cycles without maintenance.

  9. SIDE Side Label rolled on side of product. Machine runs on standard conveyor. Pivot arm location allows greater working space between the printer and the side of the box compared to linear tamp systems. Clickon image to see video sequence showing a front label application.   10. FRONT & SIDE Front & Side Dual labelling achieved by applying two labels, on pallet’s front and side. Fit to properly apply labels on pallets with irregular surface.

  11. ZEBRA PAX ZEBRA 170 PAX 3 Printhead Module Techno Pak’s Label Printer Applicator is equipped with renowned Zebra printer. Zebra PAX 3 offers printing width of up to 6” at a speed of up to 12” per second. Thermal direct or thermal transfer configurable. Available in 203 or 300 dpi printing resolution. Ribbon roll change minimized by using 900 meter long rolls, unique to Zebra.(Equivalent to 16” label roll diameter, standard on our machines)

  12. UNWIND & REWIND Unwinder & Rewinder Unwinder for 16” diameter roll.(equivalent to 21 000 labels, 1-3/8”x 4”) Heavy duty unwinder mounted on bearings. Easy to load. Powered clutch rewinder with full 16” roll capacity. Rewinder’s position allows waste removal without stopping production.

  13. PRINTING ORIENTATION Picket Fence Printing Labels printed widthwise minimizes printhead wear.(Printhead life is calculated in linear inches.) Widthwise orientation increases number of labels per roll and reduces number of roll changes. Easier and faster transfer on tamp. Printing orientation (Picket Fence) Picket fence printing is more accurate than ladder printing and less demanding on drive mechanism.

  14. Label Label Label generated using any label design software for thermal transfer printer. Height Various fields can be inserted on label. Maximum label size: 6” wide x 6” high.(Label size affects speed) Width Label formats downloaded and stored in Label Printer Applicator’s controller as templates.(Maximum 15 templates) Products data stored in controller merge with templates at printing.

  15. Label Description 1 of 2 Date:Configurable in any format, and inserted automatically when the label is printed. Ex: dd, yy, mm, mm(text), julian, week, ... Time:Inserted when the label is printed. Expiration Date:Configurable in many format (date), and inserted automatically when the label is printed. Can be entered by the operator during label assignment, or the number of days/weeks/years offset from the production date. Offset value entered with the machine keyboard or within the database for different product offset value. Bar Codes:Selected and printed in any format. Fixed Text:Inserted on label template but not related to database. Database Link:Text, numbers, bar codes, expiry dates, logos from the database are linked to a label template. During label assignment, label template is merged with the product selected in database. The database is equivalent to a spreadsheet, every line representing a product and every column a product description.

  16. Label Description 2 of 2 Counters:Serial numbers printed on label. Some are resetable by the operator while others may be fixed. Variable:ASCII character per line (1). Variables / line:Up to 6 numeric characters identify the production batch per line #1 to #6 (0-99999). Keyboard Entries:Data entered by the operator and printed on the label, but not stored in a database. Ex.: Lot #, special date, codes, ... Weight:Inserted value provided by a checkweigher connected to the Label Printer Applicator. Paragraph Text:Text field is translated in graphic and stored in the extended memory card. Ex.: Ingredients, Instructions, ... Many possibilities offered to you, ask for a technical representative for more details. Logo:Logos and graphics printed on label. (Memory card option required) Combined field:Create barcode with combined fields and add check digit. Ex.: Lot #,exp date, dbase field.

  17. Alarms Warnings Red light, fixed:The machine is stopped. Red light, blinking:Abnormal stop, machine requires operator intervention. Yellow light, fixed:The machine runs low in ribbons or labels but keeps labelling. The display indicates what causes the warning. Yellow light, blinking:When the scanner is connected, a false reading causes the yellow light to blink. A configurable number of consecutive false readings makes the machine stop. Buzzer:Abnormal stop, machine requires operator intervention.

  18. Tandem Tandem Drawing shows a tandem configuration. The first machine labels every product, while the second one stands by or when high speed or different heights are required for dual labelling. The first machine commands the start-up of the second one when a fault occurs.

  19. Labelling & Scanning Labelling and Scanning The labelling conveyor turns at a constant speed and should not stop, in order to avoid partly labelled products. The arm is adjustable to accommodate the position of pallets on the conveyor. The scanner reads the printed label and shows the bar code value. The bar code scanner can be mounted on top or side of conveyor. Space between printer and bar code reader allows access to the printer.

  20. Maintenance Traction rollers are cleaned with alcohol when replacing the ribbon roll or every 100 hours.* Printhead is cleaned with alcohol when replacing the ribbon roll or every 100 hours.* Application arm is moved away from the printhead by pressing the emergency stop button. This gives full access to the printhead, compared to difficult access with most competitive equipment. * Thermal direct does not require a ribbon but it is recommended to clean the print- head more often to avoid glue build up.

  21. Start-up Prepare a label format, and a database if needed. Download these data in the machine via laptop, RS232 or Ethernet. Locate the machine on production line, adjust the height and the guide rails to align the products with the applicator. Connect the machine to 110 VAC and compressed air. Adjust applicator settings according to the required label position and conveyor speed. Insert roll of labels on unwinder. Machine comes with a CD containing: Instructions, drawings and pictures in colour PDF format for operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.

  22. Additional Services Consumables: Techno Pak distributes thermal transfer ribbons and labels. Inventory: Techno Pak carries a large inventory of spare parts, printers and machines. Training: Complete training programs available for end users. Service: Machine repairs on site or printers serviced “in shop”, at lower hourly rate. Printers: Distributor of Zebra desktop thermal transfer printers. Turn Key: Turn key systems, including conveyors and controls, are offered by Techno Pak.
