Laws of Motion

Laws of Motion. 1 st Law – An object tends to stay at the same velocity unless another force causes it to change. 2 nd Law – The acceleration of an object is related to the object’s mass and the amount of force being exerted on the object. Laws of Motion.

  1. Laws of Motion 1st Law – An object tends to stay at the same velocity unless another force causes it to change. 2nd Law – The acceleration of an object is related to the object’s mass and the amount of force being exerted on the object.

  2. Laws of Motion 3rd Law – When one object exerts a force on another object, the second object reacts by exerting an equal force back on the first object.

  3. 1st Law of Motion An object tends to stay at the same velocity unless another force causes it to change.

  4. 2nd Law of Motion Force is equal to an object’s mass and the acceleration of the object.

  5. 2nd Law of Motion Force is equal to an object’s mass and the acceleration of the object. mass x acceleration = force

  6. 3rd Law of Motion When one object exerts a force on a second object, the second object reacts by exerting an equal force back on the first object.

  7. 3rd Law of Motion When one object exerts a force on another object, the second object reacts by exerting an equal force back on the first object. Law of action and reaction

  8. 1st Law of Motion An object at rest tends to stay at rest, and an object in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force.

  9. 2nd Law of Motion An increase or decrease in force is related to an increase or decrease in mass and/or acceleration.

  10. 3rd Law of Motion For every force exerted there is an equal force exerted back; the law of “action and reaction.”

  11. First Law of Motion an object tends to stay at the same velocity unless another force causes it to change

  12. Second Law of Motion force is equal to an object’s mass and the acceleration of the object

  13. Third Law of Motion when one object exerts a force on another object, the second object reacts by exerting an equal force back on the first object
