  1. 10 amazing facts about UPSC civil services UPSC civil services are one of the hotspot topics in India. Several lakhs of students appear in this exam every year. UPSC makes the dreams of several civil services aspirants. On the other hand, a lot of students need to realize their dreams into reality in this tough competition. Several students opt for UPSC prelims mock tests to prepare well for the exam. If you are interested in knowing more about UPSC civil services, you have come to the right place. Today, we will discuss the 10 amazing facts about UPSC civil services. Number-1 Civil services don't simply mean UPSC and becoming an IAS. There are three civil services categorizations: All India Services, Group A, and Groups B central services. Then, further, these services are divided, such as All India Services being segmented into Indian Administrative Service [IAS], Indian Foreign Service [IFS], and Indian Police Service [IPS]. Then, we have Group A services, further divided into 14 other parts. These are known as the Indian Revenue Service, Indian Revenue Service, Indian P & T Accounts & Finance Service, Indian Customs and Central Excise Service, Indian Audit & Accounts Service, Indian Ordnance Factories Service, Indian Defence Accounts Service, Indian Postal Service, Indian Defence Estates Service, Indian Civil Accounts Service, Indian Railway Account Service, Indian Railway Traffic Service, Indian Railway Personnel Service, Railway Protection Force, and Central Industrial Security Force. Then, we have Group B service, further divided into Delhi and Andaman & Nicobar Islands Civil Service, Delhi, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands Police Service, Central Secretarial Service, Armed Forces Headquarters Civil Service, Railway Board Secretariat Service, Custom Appraisers Service and Pondicherry Civil Service. These services are designated as per their rankings, regions, and responsibilities. Number- 2 The UPSC comes with minimum eligibility criteria. The candidate willing to apply for civil services must have a minimum graduate qualification and the age should be above 21 years. This is the minimum age limit for the exam. Then, there is also an upper age limit which is 32 years. The minimum age limit does not influence the category as per the religion and cast. However, the upper age limit has different limits per category. The age is generally 32 years, but the OBC, SC, ST, and PH aspirants get some concessions. These upper age limits are different and can undergo regular changes as per government orders. Number-3 There are a total of three stages in the UPSC exam. First, students opt for the UPSC prelims mock test to get a strong hand in their preparation. Then, the three levels of the exam include Prelims, Mains, and personal interview rounds. The first level comes with two papers which are

  2. taken in objective forms. The second level comes with 9 descriptive papers. Then, the third stage is the interview round which is taken by the UPSC panel. Number- 4 The civil services exam comes with different positions and designations. These designations are determined per the vacancy and the ranking of the candidate. However, most applicants opt for India's IAS, IFS, and IPS categories. Number-5 The UPSC board arranges several other exams. These are like Engineering Services Exam, Combined Defence Services Exam, Indian Statistical Service exam, Combined Medical Services Exam, etc. Number-6 The most exciting fact is that civil services and Indian Forest Services have the same prelims exam. This means the candidates aspiring for the UPSC and those aspiring for Forest services go through the same level one test. The candidates can opt for taking the best exams or either of their choice. This determination must be done before appearing in the exam during the application process. Number-7 The UPSC exam doesn't simply ask questions from the syllabus. Instead, the current affairs section of the exam covers the complete developments happening in and outside the country. You can say that candidates need to analyze the complete newspaper to prepare well for the exam. Candidates don't know whether they will be asked questions about a current incident. Conclusion UPSC civil service exam is one of the most difficult in our country. The exam is based on current affairs and overall coverage of history, geography, political science, maths, etc. In addition, the students opt for UPSC prelims mock tests to build a preparation rapport.
