  1. SECONDARY ENGLISH TUITION: HOW TOMAKEIT GREAT ELITETUITIONGROUP

  2. Learning English, with all its nuances and rules, can be fairly hard, but it is definitely worth it. To be able to use great English in a an academic, business, or social situation sets a person aside from others and makes them stand out. But how do you learn to make your English usage great? By the time a child has reached secondary English tuition, that should already have learned the myriad underpinning rules of the language through its everyday usage. Sure, they may need to understand the formal reasons for the rules and appreciate how they apply, but they generally understand how to use them. The main point of secondary school English tuition is to push the students understanding way beyond everyday use, and to show them how to make English usage great. English is a difficult language to pick up in the first place but to get really adept – as a GCSE student should – requires a huge amount of effort and learning, sometimes, more than mainstream schools can deliver. Teachers will also argue over what makes English tuition great, and that is perhaps when you need to turn to a private tutor to expand on what your child has learnt in class. 3. Great use of English requires a deep understanding of the subject, possibly more than is taught at many school levels. During lessons, your child should be presented with a systematic approach to literary genre, form, structure and rules, giving them the tools to dissect English text and understand how – and why – it is constructed so. For this reason, it is always best practice to continually build on presented texts and become ambitious with the choice of material that is given to the student. If the text doesn’t challenge, then the student is unlikely to learn from it. English education isn’t about consuming the simple; in order to be great, it must stretch the learning. English learning should focus on placing great literature at the heart of each lesson, and build a structure around what makes it great in the first place. Once you can get a student to understand a text, then you begin to enlighten them and instil a deeper understanding. A procession of simple texts will fail to do this, so lessons should concern themselves with progressively deeper texts to help the student engage and understand. WWW.ELITETUITIONGROUP.CO.UK

  4. A strong English lesson should focus on words and a lot of reading, comprehension, and writing practice. The English language currently comprises nearly 200,000 words, with a further 50,000 classed as obsolete. That gives students a huge reservoir of words to choose from, and the more they read and understand, the greater their own personal usage becomes. Students should be encouraged to create their own texts so as to use their imagination and thereby grow their own stock of words. Unfortunately, time and resource constraints mean that Secondary education sometimes fails to put these important aspects at the centre of learning. Online tutors are a great way to reinforce the rules and usage of English, augmenting what the child is learning in class. WWW.ELITETUITIONGROUP.CO.UK

  5. It is important that you get a tutor to improve your child’s education, but how do you manage that? One of the best ways is too get references from other users and contact a local tutoring center that uses accredited tutors. Recommendations come from a range of sources including parents, teachers, parents of secondary school children and former pupils. Tutors can help children on-line by going through their previous work, looking for problem areas, and advising them on how to tackle qualifications such as GCSEs and levels. You can also help the children to revise the exam timetables so that they know what’s coming up, so it is worth trying a few tutoring sessions to find the best for your children, as they may have different skills in each curriculum area.
