Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI) NRI in the Carver Neighborhood: • Kannapolis infrastructure investment • Habitat Cabarrus is affordable housing provider for the project • Partnership with Cooperative Christian Ministries • Projects Include: • Renovations • New Home Construction • Urgent Repairs • Cost to rehab is less than half of building new • Funded by HOME funds from the City

  3. 24-Month Results • (1) New Home Built • (4) Full Renovations Completed with (3) more homes being purchased by the City. • (8) Urgent Repairs Projects completed with (4) more priced and ready to start • Multiple City-owned lots available to HFHCC for new construction in the target area • Financial Literacy Classes starting soon

Other Partnerships • UNC – Charlotte SWIFT Weatherization Program • - Venture with the University, NCHFA, Advanced Energy, • US Department of Energy and Habitat Cabarrus • - (26) Homes Weatherized so far (older Habitat Homes) • Currently working with City of Concord on a partnership similar to the one we have with Kannapolis – More focus on New Homes
