  1. Wine Advocate Touts Bruno Paillard Champagne! “Bruno Paillard’s Champagnes stand out for their elegance and total finesse. Although a relatively new house by Champagne’s standards, Paillard’s wines have a timeless classicism about them that is highly appealing.” – Antonio Galloni (Issue 203, Nov 2012) NV Bruno Paillard Brut Première Cuvée Review by Antonio Galloni Rating: 92 The NV Brut Première Cuvée is exceptionally polished and refined from the very first taste. Lemon, grapefruit, green pears and flowers are some of the many notes that are woven together in this classy, totally polished wine. The two-plus years of bottle age post-disgorgement are a great example of how first-class NV Champagnes can develop beautifully in bottle, something I have seen time and again with Bruno Paillard’s wines. Hints of hazelnut, almond, crushed rocks and pastry add elements of complexity, yet the wine retains its classic sense of energy and vibrancy. This is a great showing. The Brut Premiere Cuvee is 45% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay and 22% Pinot Meunier. NV Bruno Paillard Brut Rosé Première Cuvée Review by Antonio GalloniRating: 91 The NV Brut Rosé Première Cuvée is another pure delight. Pale in color, Paillard’s Rose is all about minerality, drive and tension. This mid-weight, gracious Champagne literally dances on the palate with its exceptional grace. It is neither too delicate nor overly rich, but just beautifully balanced and harmonious from start to finish. The Rose turns more vinous with time in the glass, but it is an extremely versatile wine that can be enjoyed as an aperitif or with food. NV Bruno Paillard Brut Blanc de BlancsRéservePrivée Review by Antonio GalloniRating: 92 The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru RéservePrivée, a blend of fruit from Oger, Mesnil and Chouilly, occupies a nice stylistic middle ground in Bruno Paillard’s range. It isn’t quite as vibrant as the Premiere Cuvee, but it isn’t as rich or textured as the Millesime or NPU. Lemon oil, almonds, jasmine and wet stones are some of the notes that emerge, but the wine’s totally captivating textural finesse is just as big a part of the story. Now with nearly three years of bottle age post-disgorgement, the wine has begun to develop lovely early tertiary complexity. A gorgeous, steely finish brings back the purest essence of Chardonnay from these three distinguished Grand Cru villages. 2002 Bruno Paillard Brut Assemblage Review by Antonio Galloni Rating: 93 The 2002 Brut Assemblage is initially quite awkward, but then blossoms beautifully with air. It is rare to find a Champagne like this one, where the aromas and flavors are so beautifully defined, yet also so marvelously integrated. Sweet red berries, citrus, flowers and spices are given a little extra volume and breadth by oak in this gorgeous, broad-shouldered Champagne. Each time I come back to the wine, there is a new shade of nuance to discover. The finish is trademark Bruno Paillard, which is to say pure class. The 2002 is 47% Pinot Noir, 42% Chardonnay and 11% Pinot Meunier. Exclusive US Importer | (914) 769-3000 info@vintuswines.com | www.vintuswines.com
