Presentation • Created on February29th 1999, ISOC Sénégal has set goals : • To undertake activities in line to create an enabling environment, democratization of access and generally to promote the Internet in Senegal ; • To encourage participation in the work of ISOC Senegal;; • to encourage and promote senegalese participation in the work of ISOC and all types of cooperative projects; • to promote appropriate treatment of national languages ​​on the Internet, to encourage the circulation of local content and foster cooperation with other African ISOC chapters; • to make known the views of the senegalese chapter and ISOC to all persons or entities interested by Internet ; • To attend meetings, events, conferences, working groups or commissions, using or not the Internet

ISOC Senegal Next Generation (ISOC SNNG) Technology - Policy – Business : ISOC SNNG will build on these three areas that form the heart of the information society to allow a good knowledge and mastery of the Internet . • Awareness and training: • organization of day (or ½ day) awareness: It’sopportunities to present internet Technologies or demystify concepts such as routing protocols, DNS, Web 2.0, etc.. • establishment of cell ISOCat universities, institutes and other professional schools • Contribution to the development of the Internet : • Ensure the presence of ISOC Senegal in the events around the Internet, computer and digital technology. • Present the issues and challenges at national and international contributions through the ISOC community as an institution of international repute and major player in the world of internet. • Participate in discussions around the Internet and ICT and to facilitate their dissemination and expansion in Senegal.

Activities (2010 – 2011) • December 29, 2009 : • Training on "Validation XHTML / CSS" proposed by the W3C Office in Senegal in collaboration with ISOC SNNG for respect of web standards - ESP Dakar • February 20, 2010: • Training on web 2.0 concepts and tools ESP Dakar (195 enrolled, 146 participants) • June 03, 2010: • Creation of the Cell EC2LT (195 enrolled, 146 participants) • June 12, 2010: • Training on Pfsense(158 enrolled, 36 participants) • June 19, 2010: • Meeting Bootcamp in partnershipwith the W3C(46 participants)

Activities (2010 – 2011) • June 26, 2010: • Training on web 2.0 concepts and tools - University of Saint Louis (150 participants) • Creation of the cell of UGB • July 03, 2010: • Training on web 2.0 concepts and tools - EC2LT Dakar • July 29, 2010: • National Internet Governance Forum (97 participants) • 23 - 25 août 2010: • West Africa Internet Governance Forum (150 participants)
