  2. Floods Floods are among the most frequent and costly natural disasters. Conditions that cause floods include heavy or steady rain for several hours or days that saturates the ground. Flash floods occur suddenly due to rapidly rising water along a stream or low ­lying area.

  3. Supplies you’ll need • Water atleast a 3 day supply(1 gallon /person/day) • Flashlight (extra batteries) • First aid kit • Cellphone with chargers • Life vest • Rain gear • Pet supplies • Food (enough for 3 days or more)

  4. Flood sighns If you come along apon a flowing stream where water is above your ankles, stop, turn around and go another way. six inches of swiftly moving water can sweep you off your feet.

  5. After a flood Return home only when officials have told you to do so. In case of emergency to go home always make sure the area is clear and there is absolutely NO WATER in your home.
