Evaluation of Immune Response in BAL Fluid with IL-4 and IFN-γ Levels

This study investigates the immune response in bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid by measuring cytokine levels of IL-4 and IFN-γ in control and treated groups. The concentrations of these cytokines are expressed in pg/ml, with specific comparisons made against total cell counts in BAL. Results show significant ratios of IL-4 to IFN-γ, indicating the type of immune response (Th2 vs Th1). The findings contribute to understanding the immune mechanisms involved in pulmonary responses to siNS1 treatment.
