Training on Human Rights Mechanisms • Purpose and Objectives:- - To support the needs of communities and their campaigns - To provide a background on the protection of Human Rights at the International level - To inform participants on various international processes relevant to their situation - To facilitate a practical assessment of their use value for participant communities

Human Rights Mechanisms • To assist in developing campaign plans • To enable participants to share information in re-echo “sharings” with communities • To assist communities in networking for support on regional, national, international human rights issues • Others (as agreed with participants)?

  3. Methods/ Approaches • Presentation of information in talks • Presentation of reference and support documentation • Discussions & questions • Inputs from some with direct experiences • Practical workshops • Local national international • Community focus and/or policy change

  4. 4 training modules • Module 1 - Treaties and international mechanisms • Module 2 - International mechanisms, engagement and examples • Module 3 - International corporations, and their human rights obligations • Module 4 - International corporations, engagement and examples • Modules 1 & 3 are more information, 2 & 4 more sharing
