  1. I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You by Ally Carter Made By Samantha Whalley.

  2. “Girls, I need you to do a tour.” “But . . . we’re sophomores!” Bex exclaimed, as if my mother had mysteriously forgotten. Mom's mouth was full of chocolate, so Buckingham explained, “The juniors ae beginning their semester with interrogation tactics, so they are all under the influence of sodium pentothal at the moment, & the seniors are being fitted with their night-vision contacts, & they wont un-dilate for at least two hours. This is the most unfortunate timing, but Code Reds are such for a reason. We don’t know when they’ll happen and, well, one is happening now” “What do you say?’ Mom asked, smiling. “Can you help us out?” (27) This particular scene is important because it is the first conflict that the main characters face. This is also important because this is the moment that one of the other main characters is introduced. This is the first time the two girls have ever done a tour, normally they are done by the upper classman and you can see their in shock and a tad bit worried by their response.

  3. Macey looked down at our piles, examining the scene as if this were the most exciting thing she’d seen in months, which absolutely, positively could not have been true, since I know for a fact that her class had been in the physics lab when Mr. Fibs got attacked by the bees he thought he'd genetically modified to obey commands from a whistle. “His name is Josh,” I said finally. (132) The particular section is very important because so far Cammie has met Josh while on a trial mission. Gallagher Girls aren't like the girls out in the real world. They don’t get to experience all the things we do, so when she met the boy she didn’t know what any of the signs were or what anything he was saying actually met. Macey, the girl who has been nothing but ignorance, knows about this sort of thing. This scene is the beginning of the end to her understanding boys problem.

  4. “Hey don’t I know you?’ Dillon asked, but he wasn’t talking to me. It was worse. He was talking to Anna, and he wasn’t simply asking a question. His words were too sharp. His tone too predatory as he stepped closer to little Anna Fetterman and said, “No, wait, you don’t go to my school.” in the mirror above the bar I saw him crowd Anna against the shelves. “I bet you go to the Gallagher Academy.” Anna drew her purse to her chest as if he were going to grab it and run away. “What a nice purse,” Dillon said. “Did your daddy buy you that purse?’ (230) This scene is very important because a decision has to be made and no matter what choice cammie makes, something bad will happen. This is the beginning of the end.

  5. “We were just coming to see you,” Dillon said, inching closer. “Really?’ I said, adding an artificial nervousness to my voice. “But . . . “ I glanced between the two of them. “You don’t know where I live.” “ oh, sure we do,” Dillon said. “I saw you Saturday. Walking back to school. With your friends.” “But . . . I’m homeschooled.” And the Academy Award for Best Teenage Drama goes to----Cammie Morgan! “I don’t know what you’re talking about” The streetlight above us flickered off and on, and in that half second of darkness, Dillon stepped closer. “Give it up rich girl. I SAW you!” (250-51) This is when things take a turn for the worst. Josh finds out the truth and everything gets chaotic. This is a very emotional part for Cammie, from this point on its like her whole world is spinning and turning upside down.

  6. “I have eyeball,” Bex said, as I lurked across the town square by the dunking booth. Every minute or so, I’d hear a splash and applause behind me. People kept walking by carrying corn dogs and caramel apples. . .” (68) Ally Carter uses descriptive words to explain the setting to show you a mental image of the girls surroundings. This particular scene is the first mission the three girls go on by themselves to test their skills.

  7. “The streetlight about us flickered off and on, and in the half second of darkness, Dillon stepped closer.” (251) In that one second of darkness, the whole scene got tense. This one quote tells you a lot about where they are and it gives you hints about what is going to happen. The author uses certain language and put it in a certain place to get the effect she was going for.

  8. “I totally don’t recommend getting them mixed up, by the way, becase, just as soon as Bex drew a big cricle in the roof, the acid starting eating away, and thirty seconds later I was rappelling down into the warehouse below. The building was a maze of tall metal shelves stacked with pallets. I imagined the beeping of forklifts as Bex and I crept throught the south side of the building, trusting that our classmates were simultaneously creeping through the north.” (266-67) So much happens in this scene and the author not only gives your vivid descriptive words to explain the setting, she also shows you what the characters are thinking or feeling towards the setting, to get a better idea/image.

  9. “I knew that tone. That tone was dangerous. I heard music from the party down the street, saw our picturesque surroundings, and
