  2. PPRP Meeting • Held in RIBA, London on 5th Sept. 2006 • Presentations by • D. Angal-Kalinin (‘existing’ tasks) and • A. Wolski (‘new tasks’). • All WP managers were present in the closed session where some questions were asked by the panel to each WP. • There were no major surprises and generally things went very well.

  5. Summary • The proposed programme will: • • build on and extend the success of the previous LC-ABD programme; • We will take advantage of new opportunities to benefit from an integrated, global view of the ILC. • • continue to demonstrate scientific excellence; • Research will focus on phenomena requiring precision measurement and modelling, and detailed and complete analysis for a full understanding. • As a result of the research, system designs will be optimised for low technical risk and low cost. • New tools and techniques will be developed that will be essential for the ILC to achieve its performance goals. • • be well-integrated into the international R&D program; • Focus will be on topics identified as high priority by the GDE R&D Board. • The programme will benefit from strong collaboration with international partners. • UK experts already have significant leadership roles in the GDE. • •strengthen and extend UK leadership in a project that directly addresses several key topics in the PPARC science programme. A.Wolski

  6. PPRP Feedback • The Panel feels that the science case for LC-ABD is impressive and would like to thank the proponents for the useful presentations and discussions. • This is seen as an important experiment that will have a major impact on key science areas and that fits well with PPARC and CCLRC key strategic priorities. • In reviewing a project of this size the PPRP needs to explore fully and understand the management plans, costs and timescales of the project so that it can determine how best to get a good science return for its investment.

  7. Visiting Panel Will be held at Daresbury, starting at 11.30am on Wednesday 11th October. Panel will consist of • Jon Butterworth (Chair) • Iain Steele • Steve Boyd • Steve Holmes • Daniel Schulte I am still waiting for a detailed agenda from PPARC

  8. EUROTeV News • The next Eurotev meeting will not be at Valencia; moved to Daresbury in January 8-9 2007. • Extension of EUROTeV programme by one year is likely; ending December 2008. • Need to prepare financial summaries by end of 2006; but no detailed audit this time.

  9. SUMMARY • We made a good first impression at PPRP • We have a lot of work to do for visiting panel. • EUROTeV likely to be extended to 2008.
