  1. Blessed Is He Whose Sin Is Covered Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit. Psalms 32:1-2

  2. Why Do Sins Need To Be Covered? • Because of it’s nature • Transgression - 1 Jn 3:4 • Unrighteousness - 1 Jn 5:17 • Omission - Jas 4:17 • Heinousness (Dirty garment) - Rev. 3:4; Col. 3:9 • Corruption - Matt. 23:27; Isa. 1:6 • Filth and vomit - 2 Pet. 2:22

  3. Why Do Sins Need To Be Covered? • Curse of sin • Separates - Isa. 59:1-2 • Alienates - Col. 1:21 • Consequences of David's sin - 2 Sam. 12:10-14 • Eternal punishment - Rom. 6:23; Jas 1:13-15

How Is Sin Covered? • Not man's way • Denial -Rom. 3:23; 1 Jn 1:8-10 • Concealment - Adam, Cain, Moses, Achan - Heb. 4:13; Job 31:33 • Refusal to think about it - Psa. 51:3 • Time may for man but not God - 2 Pet. 3:8 • Distance (Running from sins) – Jonah - Psa. 139:7-12 • Good deeds (Quit and do good--does not forgive) - Psa. 51:16

How Is Sin Covered? • Only God can cover sins and only on His terms. • David was forgiven--under Moses' law • Alien sinner today • Faith - Acts 15:9 • Repent - Acts 3:19 • Confess - Rom. 10:10 • Baptism - Acts 22:16 • Erring child of God. Repent and confess sin, and pray for forgiveness - Acts 8:22; Jas 5:16; 1 Jn 1:9; Isa. 1:18

  6. Results Of Sins Covered • Blessed or happiness - Psa. 1:1; Beatitudes; Rev. 14 • Deliverance--out of prison, POW camp. • Gift--Million dollars--forgiveness. • Adoption--in this life--with God. • Cure--physical--spiritual. • Reunion--with friends--with God.
