Understand Your Restoration (1:21-22) • Established by Christ (Called) • Anointed by God (Sent) • Sealed by the Holy Spirit (Empowered)
Understand Our Restoration • Reprove = knowledge of sin (2 Tim 4:2) • Rebuke = punishment for sin (Heb. 12:5-11) • Exhort = instruction for repentance (2 Cor 7:9-10)
Understand the Restoration of Others • Restoration is the goal of any punishment • Church discipline (1 Cor 5:5-6) • The goal is to kill the flesh not the man. • Restoration is the key to victory over Satan • If we don’t restore we are an agent of destruction • God is not pleased with the destroyer of the body (1 Cor 3:16-17)
