Technology Update

This document outlines the findings of the TIES technology audit conducted on January 11, 2011. The audit identified various issues related to network hardware, security, and backups.   2. TIES Technology Audit TIES identified issues with: • Network hardware (switches, servers) • Network routing • Network security • Network configuration • Backup system • System updates and patches • Active Directory

  3. Network Upgrades so far… • Replaced all network switches • Wireless Access Points • Migration to 2010 Exchange server • Reconfigure Active Directory including permissions structure • Installed redundant firewall and filter • Installed new email filter

  4. Issues That Remain • Single points of failure (no redundancy) • 100’s of websites on multiple servers • Archaic servers and end of life software • Back up and recovery systems are inadequate • Difficult system administration and maintenance
