  2. Igneous Mineral composition – Obsidian rocks are very rich in silica. Color- Obsidian has a shiny black or grey color. Texture- Obsidian is an extrusive rock that has a smooth shiny texture of a thick piece of glass.

  3. Sedimentary Mineral Composition- Sandstone is a sedimentary rock formed from cemented sand-sized clasts. The cement that binds the clasts can vary from clay minerals to calcite, silica, or iron oxides. Color- Sandstone’s color is variable through grey, yellow, red to white reflecting the variation in mineral content and cement. Texture- Sandstone is a clastic sedimentary rock that has a gritty texture.

  4. Metamorphic Mineral Composition- The most common minerals in this rock are quartz, potassium feldspar, and sodium feldspar. Color- The color of Gneiss is an alternating of black and white. Texture- Gneiss is a foliated metamorphic rock that has coarse grain and is non-micaceous.
