Why do we assess programs? • To ensure continued student success • To assess individual needs of students • To better meet the needs of students with disabilities • To allow for staff/parent input
Programs Involved • Transitional Kindergarten • Chesak • Structured Educational Settings (K-8) • Leggee, Conley, MMS • Strategy Education (K-8) • Chesak, Martin, HMS • Special Needs and Autism Program (SNAP) (6-8) • Leggee • Life Skills programs (K-8) • Chesak, Martin, HMS • Total of 17 classrooms across the district
Considerations • Assess number of students in self-contained programs • Access to students’ home school • Space availability in buildings • Access to related service personnel (SW, OT, PT, etc.) • Impact on travel times for students • Ease of transition within/between campuses
