  3. What is Wraparound? The Wraparound process is a collaborative, team-based planning approach to providing services and natural supports. Through the Wraparound process, the team create plans to meet the needs—and improve the lives—of children, youth and family.

Wraparound Goals • Wraparound services for children and families involved in the child welfare system • To assist children and family’s in meeting their own personal goals • Reduce the length of stay in foster care for children in the system • Increase stability & permanency of children in the wraparound process • Increase collaboration between LOWO and community-based agencies

  5. Learning Objectives • Family Support Specialist will become knowledgeable of the “Wraparound Process” and how it can assist the family in planning for their family. • Family Support Specialist will recognize the importance of “family voice” and to acknowledge the Wraparound plan should be “family driven”. • Family Support Specialist knows the importance of other community agencies in the child welfare system and can collaborate with these service providers and agencies to develop case plans and to provide services.
