The MTE Forecasting and Tracking Workgroup #108 aims to ensure the availability of the right type of Mail Transport Equipment (MTE) at the right time and place to meet customer needs consistently. Challenges include a lack of knowledge about customer needs and inventory, leading to misuses and theft of equipment. Corrective actions involve a pilot subgroup for forecasting, expanding national programs, improving inventory reporting, and leveraging technology for better tracking. Standardization practices and awareness campaigns are emphasized to mitigate these issues while developing best practices for inventory management.
