Background • ITU-R Working party 5A (WP 5A) at its May 2010 meeting initiated the development of a Report and a Recommendation on Multiple Gigabit Wireless Systems (MGWS) operating around 60 GHz • The IEEE received a liaison statement from the ITU-R soliciting input for the development of this Report and Recommendation • This document proposes an IEEE 802.11 response to the ITU-R liaison Carlos Cordeiro, Intel Corporation

Proposed IEEE 802.11 response • Summary of response: • Included a cover letter • Main changes to Recommendation: simplification of the spectrum allocation text, inclusion of parameters for coexistence, inclusion of receive sensitivity levels, and inclusion of clear channel access rules • Main change to Report: inclusion of a technical summary of the IEEE 802.11ad draft specification • The proposed IEEE 802.11 response to ITU-R is in the attached file Carlos Cordeiro, Intel Corporation
