The Adventures of Daisy and Duke Dolphin.

Daisy and Duke Dolphin are twins. They are bottle nose dolphins and love to swim in the ocean. They used to live in the Gulf of Mexico, but due to the recent oil spill in the Gulf they washed ashore in Destin, Florida. They were happy they were together and did not get separated like some of their friends.
Miss Vawter was on vacation in Destin, Fl with her family. She went out Wednesday, June 26th to see the tarballs all over the beach and she saw Daisy and Duke. Miss Vawter picked Daisy and Duke up and took them back to her condo with her. She cleaned them up and tucked them into bed after their long day. They were feeling lucky they washed ashore together. The next morning they woke up, the beaches were clean, there were no more tarballs and everyone was enjoying the beautiful beaches of Destin again.
Daisy and Duke did not want to return to their natural habitat in the Gulf of Mexico for fear of washing ashore again due to the oil spill. They asked Miss Vawter if they could live with her and be part of her family. She said YES! Daisy and Duke were very happy. Daisy and Duke spent the next two days with Miss Vawter and her family. They all stayed at the Beach Retreat Condos on the fourth floor. Miss Vawter made them their own special bed and they got lots of good rest on their their vacation.
Daisy and Duke had a fun time building sand castles and playing in the sand.
Roxi and Daisy Miss Vawter has two miniature dachshunds , Rowdy and Roxi. Daisy and Duke had a lot of fun playing with them. Rowdy and Duke
Rowdy and Roxi’s favorite part of their vacation was laying in their bed, in a lounge chair on the balcony of the condo. This soon became Daisy and Duke’s favorite thing too. At first, Roxi was not too sure about the new additions to the family and was a little jealous. She eventually took a picture with both of them while Rowdy took a nap.
On the long road trip home Miss Vawter told Daisy and Duke about her school, Davis Elementary, and their mascot, the Dolphin. Daisy and Duke wanted to go to Davis and meet Miss Vawter’s class. Miss Vawter told them all about the Carrollton-Farmers Branch School District and they insisted on visiting the many different schools and learning more about the school district. Daisy and Duke were going to miss their friends and family, as well as the ocean.They were also VERY excited about their new home and the new friends they were going to meet.
During their time living with Miss Vawter, Daisy and Duke enjoyed a lot of resting and relaxing at the swimming pool. They made sure to wear lots of sunscreen, so they did not get sunburned.
Daisy and Duke had A LOT of questions about Davis, the students and the different schools in CFBISD. Miss Vawter answered as many of their questions as she could. She assured them that when they visit the different schools in the district all of their questions would be answered.
Miss Vawter told them she taught 2nd grade and everything you learn in 2nd grade. Daisy and Duke were very excited, but their best friend was in 1st grade. They asked if they could spend some time in a 1st grade classroom as well. Miss Vawter told them that would be just fine and started talking to them about Mrs. Blazek and her fun class. Miss Vawter called Mrs. Blazek and asked her if she would like to help out Daisy and Duke. She said she would LOVE too! Miss Vawter and Mrs. Blazek met one day and Daisy and Duke went to spend the rest of the summer with Mrs. Blazek and her family.
