  1. Is a Vegan Diet Really Good for Your Body?

  2. Is a Vegan Diet Really Good for Your Body? • So many Americans are often caught up with finding the “perfect” diet. While such a diet does not exist, many people choose to go vegan. Veganism is a type of vegetarian diet that excludes meat, eggs, dairy products, and all other animal-derived ingredients. People choose to be vegan for health, environmental, and/or ethical reasons. But is veganism healthy? Do vegans obtain enough nutrients for a human to live healthfully?

  3. Carefully read the following sources. Then synthesize information from the sources and incorporate into a coherent, well-developed essay that defends, qualifies, or challenges the claim that vegan diets are not healthy for the human body. • (Make sure that your argument is central; use the sources to illustrate and support your reasoning. Avoid merely summarizing the sources. Indicate clearly which sources you are drawing from, whether through direct quotation, paraphrase, or summary. You may cite the sources as Source A, Source B, etc., or by using descriptions in parentheses. • Source A (MNT) • Source B (Yummy Plants) • Source C (Chart) • Source D (McDougall)

  4. Source A • Article • What is a vegan diet? What are the benefits of being vegan?

  5. Source B (Yummy Plants) • Article 2 • Dr. Neal Barnard Discusses the Benefits of a Vegan Diet

  6. Source C • Chart http://vegisgood.edublogs.org/2012/09/13/vegans-have-smaller-brains-mental-illness-caused-by-the-diet/
