  2. Daily routine • Did everything to please God • Men hunted and planted, women sewed, preserved vegetables and cooked • Everybody who could walk did chores

  3. Religion • As said before they stayed away from sin and God was the center of life for everybody • Puritan church was in the middle of the community • Everybody by law had to attend church ALL DAY on Sunday, some churches would lock the doors so no one would leave • Mostly Catholics

  4. Lifestyle of colonists • Married early-early teens and 20s • Life expectancy of 60-70 years • Had large families of 7-9 kids on average

  5. Interesting facts • Puritans valued breastfeeding ( 9 passages in the bible favored it) • They believed in putting 100% in everything they did, such as education and work • The word puritan came into usage about 1556 during the middle of the reign of Queen Mary
