Segment (Bölüm) ne demektir? • Bir ağın omurga kablosu (backbone cable) • Örneğin Hub veya terminali birbirine bağlayan tek bir kablo • Populated segment: Kendisine bağlı en az bir tane pc olan kablo. • Link segment: Segmentleri birbirine bağlayan ama kendisine bağlı bir pc olmayan segmentlerdir.

  3. 5-4-3 Kuralı • Bir ağı genişletirken, alt ağlar oluştururken veri çakışması ve sinyal zayıflaması, çakışması gibi sorunların olmaması, ağın sağlıklı çalışması için izlenecek kurallar bütünüdür.
