  2. This is your handout. You will only be using the boxes going across here and the ones at the left and right side that say Examples:

  3. INPUT The first step is INPUT – getting the information into the computer system.

  4. PROCESSING (CPU) INPUT The second step is PROCESSING (CPU) – which is what the computer does to the information once it is put into the computer.

  5. OUTPUT PROCESSING (CPU) INPUT The third and final step is OUTPUT – getting the information OUT of the computer system once it has been processed.

  6. OUTPUT PROCESSING (CPU) INPUT input There are many ways to get information into the computer system. They will go listed under INPUT. First fill in the blank under Examples:

  7. OUTPUT PROCESSING (CPU) INPUT input Now fill in the area underneath with the peripherals listed. These are the different devices used to get information INTO a computer system. Keyboard Graphics Tablet Mouse Touch Screen Joystick Bar Code Readers Digital Camera Scanner Video Camera Web Camera Microphone

  8. 10. OUTPUT PROCESSING (CPU) INPUT input This presentation showed the process a computer goes through when processing data as well as peripherals used for INPUT and OUTPUT purposes. output Keyboard Graphics Tablet Mouse Touch Screen Joystick Bar Code Readers Digital Camera Scanner Video Camera Web Camera Microphone Monitor Printer Robot Speakers Headphones Digital Projector

  11. OUTPUT PROCESSING (CPU) INPUT input Now we will look at the way a computer processes that data once it is PUT IN to the computer and before we get it back OUT. output Keyboard Graphics Tablet Mouse Touch Screen Joystick Bar Code Readers Digital Camera Scanner Video Camera Web Camera Microphone Monitor Printer Robot Speakers Headphones Digital Projector

  13. OUTPUT PROCESSING (CPU) INPUT input Main Memory ROM ROM is Read only memory. Data in ROM is permanent and cannot be erased. output Keyboard Graphics Tablet Mouse Touch Screen Joystick Bar Code Readers Digital Camera Scanner Video Camera Web Camera Microphone Monitor Printer Robot Speakers Headphones Digital Projector

  14. OUTPUT PROCESSING (CPU) INPUT input Main Memory ROM RAM RAM means Random Access Memory. This memory is temporary and is lost when a computer is shut off – unless you have stored the information. output Keyboard Graphics Tablet Mouse Touch Screen Joystick Bar Code Readers Digital Camera Scanner Video Camera Web Camera Microphone Monitor Printer Robot Speakers Headphones Digital Projector
