  2. INTASC STANDARD #4 Multiple Instructional Strategies: The teacher understands and uses a variety of instructional strategies to encourage students’ development of critical thinking, problem solving, and performance skills. Children Book List September 25, 2013 EDUC: 245 For this assignment , I made a PowerPoint of children books. These books will be exciting for the children and it would encourage students to develop critical thinking and problem solving. Rational. To document my understanding of standard 4 I included a PowerPoint to understand the variety of instructional strategies.

  3. I Am America And America is MeBy: Charles R. Smith Jr. • This little children book, talks about how proud they are to be an American. • The book also speaks on how diverse America is. • The book has several pictures of children being proud of what they are. No matter what race a person is or religion a person is, I AM AMERICA AND AMERICA IS ME.

  4. I’VE GOT AN IDEABY GLORIA M. SWANSON AND MARGARET V. OTT This book is a story of Frederick Mckinley Jones. I chose this book because I remember reading about him when I was a child and I thought it would be perfect for this project Frederick M. Jones was African American/Irish American and as a child he was always very smart with mechanics. By the time he became a teenager he could pretty much rebuild anything that had and engine in it. He was faced with racism through out his life. He only went to school for four years but he taught himself about race cars, steam engines, electronics air conditions, pretty much any thing with an engine. As a black man with only four years of education, he managed to invent the refrigerated trucks, boxcars and transport containers. By the end of his life, he received 60 patent and was vice president of a multi-million dollar company.

  5. NANTA’S LIONby: SuseMacdonal This is a little neat book I picked up, when I first saw it I had buy it because it seem like a book little children would love to read because of all the pictures and the story behind it. This little book is about little African girl that was in search for a lion because she heard her family always talking about one. She went out on her own mission to look for one. She saw every animal she could think of. But couldn't’t even find a lion.

  6. CELEBRATION!By: Jane Resh Thomas As I was reading this book, it reminded me a lot like my family. This book is about an African American Family that always have little parties from time to time. The book was very interesting because talks about how some family member come to the parties very early while some of them come very late. The book talked about African American food and that really reminded me of my family. This was a great book to read, but do not read it if you are hungry. 
