  1. Different Types of Tests Performed in IT Environment Management

  2. Testing is a very crucial part of the software life cycle process where the software developed by the testing team is tested before its deployment. The software testing team tests the software to find out any bugs or defects before the software gets deployed and is used by the customers. There are different ways the testing occurs in theIT environment management. • There is some fixed traditional way of testing also which is continued for many years in various IT companies. Depending on the team size, budget and the frequency of release, the testing picture is somewhat like below and these many tests are performed in the Test environment management.

  3. Dev • It allows the developers to test the features beyond the local environment before it gets handed over to the QA team for testing.

  4. Test • Here, the QA team performs the functional testing usually within the scope of the release in the Test environment management.

  5. Alpha testing • Alpha testing is performed at the end of the software development process before the beta testing and is performed generally by the developers or the testing team to see everything goes in the perfect way before the software is sent to the beta testers.

  6. Beta Testing • Here, the software is passed on to some limited number of users who test the software and report the bugs, defects they find if any and also suggest the enhancements from the perspective of the user.

  7. UAT UAT stands for user acceptance testing which is done by the client to check whether the software made is according to the business requirements or not. Once the client accepts the software then it goes into the production phase. This is the last phase of software development.

  8. Accessibility testing The accessibility testing is performed to determine whether the application or the software developed is accessible for the disabled people or not. Here, disability means color blindness, old age, mentally disabled, deaf and other disabled groups. Various checks are performed such as color contrast for color blindness, the font size for visually disabled and so on.

  9. Back-End Testing As the name suggests, the back-end testing is done to check whether the database properly functions or not and whether the data entered or retrieved from the database works in the required manner or not. This testing involves the testing of the table structure, stored procedure, schema and so on. There is no GUI involved in this testing.
