Char dham Yatra is considered to be the most auspicious pilgrimage tour in India. As the name suggests this includes Char meaning 4 places in \in India which are of high significance to the Hindus. This is believed to cure pilgrims of their sins and lead devotees to a path of salvation. They are all located in four different directions of the country namely Badrinath in the north, Dwaraka in the West, Rameshwaram in the south and Puri in the East. This circuit of Char dham is believed to laid down by Adi Shankaracharya Tour Packages BADRINATH: | This is a town located in the North Indian state of Uttarakhand in the Garhwal region. Alaknanda river flows in its proximity adding on to the beauty of the temple and the region as a whole. This town lies in between the Nar and Narayana mountain ranges. The name of the region arises from the word Badri which means Berries which are found here in abundant and nath means Lord/ lord of. DWARKA: Char dham destination in the Westen part of Country in the state of Gujarat is dedicated to Dwaradish This town is associated with Dwarka kingdom of Lord Krishna and believed to be the first capital of Gujarat. This city is sacred in itself because of the belief that Lord Krishna constructed the city and settled here after defeating his uncle Kansa. A part of the city is believed to be submerged underwater which has also been partially proved by the Archeological Survey of India. There are distinct sights and temples for tourists to visit in and around Dwarka during their Char dham Yatra. Dwarkadish Temple: This is the topmost attraction of the foremost Char dham, a temple built in the Chalukya styled architecture is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The history of which leads back to Mahabharat, believed to have been existing from then. The eve of Janmashtmi is the most special celebration in this temple which is a retreat to the senses to get to witness. Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple: Again one of the 12 jyotirlingas found in India is situated here. It has an aesthetic appeal on pilgrims and tourists alike. Rukmini Temple: Even though not a big one is architecturally alluring. A temple dedicated to Rukmini, who is one of the wives of Lord Krishna must be visited to see paintings and carvings on the walls portraying Rukmini and Krishna.
