  3. Reference *NALCOMIS Online User’s Manual & *Student Journal pg: 94 NALCOMIS Contingency Manual

  4. Contingency Plan • Definition: Defines the various aspects of contingency requirements, describes various system downtime scenarios and identifies the actions that must be taken by work center, Production Control, and Supply personnel in response to each of these scenarios. • Both the Maintenance and Supply Officers are responsible for implementing procedures for the capture of data during system unavailability.(NALCOMIS Contingency Manual pg. 13 para 6.1.2d and pg. 14 para 6.1.3d)

  5. Contingency Operation Purpose: Provide NALCOMIS IMA/SSC organizations with procedures and guidelines to be followed during system downtime.

  6. Contingency: Causes DowntimeEvent Scheduled: Predetermined period of time Unscheduled: Indeterminate period of time

  7. Contingency: Purpose Activities and procedures designed to support on-going maintenance and supply operations.

  8. Contingency: Downtime Procedures: Long Term = greater than 6 hours Short Term = Less than 6 hours

  9. Contingency: Planning Recovery: Those activities and procedures that must be followed after the system is restored and prior to normal operations. Backfit: (Like recovery but in addition..) Procedures which allow the entry of NALCOMIS data that was processed manually during system downtime.

  10. Contingency: Concepts The contingency consists of four NALCOMIS processes, which allow for the entry of MAF and requisition data by specifically authorized personnel.

  11. Contingency: Players System Administrator NALCOMIS Data Base Administrator Functional-IMA DB Administrator Functional-SSC DB Administrator Qualified CCS CPO / LPO (8012 NEC) Authorized supervisors / personnel

  12. Contingency: The Recovery / Backfit Process • There are 4 processes that make up the recovery/backfit portion of contingency operations: 1. Direct Support Material Requirement 2. Indirect Support Material Requirement 3. MSG-Material Contingency Mailbox 4. DDSN Inquiry

  13. Contingency: The Process DIRECT SUPPORT MATERIAL REQUIREMENT

  14. Contingency: The ProcessPurpose: Enter all demands which have been generated in direct support of aviation maintenance as a result of an organizational level maintenance action.

  15. Contingency: The ProcessSystem action: 1. Creates a requisition record. 2. Creates MSG-POST SERIAL NUMBER ISSUE when appropriate. 3. Creates hardcopy notice. (a) DD1348-1. (b) Critical Item Notice. (c) EXREP Turn In Notice. 4. Creates a transledger entry with a transledger code of CTGRQN

  16. Contingency: The Process Indirect Support Material Requirement

  17. Contingency: The Process Purpose: Establish a demand for consumable indirect support material ( Material not related to a MAF) and provides for entry of the material demand into the requisition process. System action: 1. Assigns the appropriate LSC to the requisition. 2. Creates a requisition record. Mailbox Message: None Hardcopy Notice: Creates hardcopy notice DD 1348-1.

  18. MSG – Material Contingency Mailbox • It is important that you remember, each time a demand is generated, there maybe (usually is), a mailbox to which action is pending. • Anytime the failed/required material record has been documented on an I-level contingency MAF, a mailbox message will be generated in the Material Contingency Mailbox

  19. AdditionalMailboxes:(Affected by Contingency processing) MSG-AMSU Induction Discrepancy MSG-Completed Repair Action MSG-PC Approval RequiredHardcopy Notice: 1. Creates VIDS/MAF print out 2. Prints ICRL Error Notice 3. Prints AMSU Induction Discrepancy

  20. Contingency: The Process Msg-Material Contingency Mailbox Review

  21. Remember, there is more than one way to clear the items shown here. Double clicking the item above, or if DDSN is already known, using the inquiry feature for the DDSN, will allow you enter contingency data.

  22. This is one of two available methods to clearing Material Contingency Requisitions. DDSN Required!

  23. This is an alternate path to clearing Material Contingency Requisitions.

  24. DDSN INQUIRY • A DDSN inquiry should be performed after each document is entered via contingency processing. This ensures database integrity is being maintained throughout the back fitting process.

  25. Topic 3.8 Enabling Objectives 3.25, 3.26 and 3.29 Describe……
