Graduation Data • Measured by an increase in the percent of youth graduating from high school with a regular diploma on the (standard pathway) • Take students enrolled on 40th day and the number of students graduating at the end of the school year. • Students on a standard pathway / all 12th grade students with IEPs X 100 STARS Data Conference Cynthia Romero

Business Rules • Continuing or Transitioning students can only be returning 12th graders. • Pathways must be entered into STARS (a senior’s pathway can’t be changed downward after the 20th day of school) as per 6.30.2(9)(d)(ii) NMAC • Districts must maintain 80% on a Standard Pathway as per 6.30.2(9)(d)(iii)NMAC • Calculated at EOY STARS Data Conference Cynthia Romero

  7. Assessment • Participation and Performance of children with disabilities in Statewide Assessments • Data is obtained from the NMPED Assessment and Accountability Division • Used to report IDEA Section 618 - Table 6 STARS Data Conference Cynthia Romero

Suspension/Expulsion Data • Percent of districts identified by the State as having a significant discrepancy in the rates of suspensions and expulsions of children with disabilities for greater than 10 days. • Reported on – IDEA Section - 618 Table 5 • Subset of EOY discipline submissions • Risk and Weighted ratio of 5.0 or above STARS Data Conference Cynthia Romero

Least Restrictive Environment 6-21 Percent of children with IEPs aged 6-21 that are: • SA01 Inside Regular Class 80% or more of the day • SA02 Inside Regular Class 40%-79% of the day • SA03 Inside Regular Class less than 40% of the day • Served in a public or private separate school, residential placement, homebound, or hospital placement – all other setting codes STARS Data Conference Cynthia Romero

  16. Early Childhood Assessment • Measured by looking at students with IEPs compared to typically developing peers • First year to submit this through STARS • Entry data and Progress data are required STARS Data Conference Cynthia Romero

  17. Business Rules • Administer a State approved assessment • Districts then convert the results into the Child Outcome Summary Form (COSF) • Then, the COSF ratings are converted into OSEP’s (A-E) ratings. • The (A-E) ratings are then entered into STARS STARS Data Conference Cynthia Romero
